Until recently, if you wanted to watch a movie, a trip to a video store like blockbuster was your only option. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site. Eagle's Wing: The lord on no account meant penguins to soar or the British to make Westerns. This is a boring, artsy glop intertwining movie. Billy Williams' lush cinematography doesn't help. Cast includes Martin Sheen, Sam Waterston, Caroline Langrishe, Harvey Keitel, Stephane Audran, John Castle, and Jorge Luke. (111 minutes, 1979) Sentimental Journey: Maudlin yam of dying actress O'Hara adopting little gal to give spouse Payne a friend while she is gone; no keeps barred here. Movie was redone as 'The Present of Love' and for a 1984 Television film. Cast includes John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, William Bendix, Cedric Hardwicke, Glenn Langan, Mischa Auer, and Connie Marshall. (94 minutes, 1946) A Good Woman: Ill-imagined rendition of Oscar Wilde's Woman Windermere's Fan filmed few times across the years, set in Italy instead of England and updated from the 1890s to the 1930s. A number of Wilde's British characters now are Americans; one of them is Mrs. Erlynne a sorely miscast Seek, a bankrupt adventuress who shows up in Amalfi and decides to seduce very wealthy, recently wedded Robert Windermere Umbers. Cast includes Helen Seek, Scarlett Johansson, Milena Vukotic, Stephen Campbell Moore, Mark Umbers, Tom Wilkinson, and Diana Hardcastle. (93 minutes, 2005) The Light at the Edge of the World: Amongst their quarrel for possession of an island, lighthouse keeper Douglas and ocean pirate Brynner battle it out for endearments of shipwreck sufferer Eggar. Jules Verne story has some enthusiasm, although is more often accidentally ludicrous. Cast includes Kirk Douglas, Yul Brynner, Samantha Eggar, Jean-Claude Druout, and Fernando Rey. (118 minutes, 1971) Michael Collins: Politically charged tale of Irish insurgent leader Collins (Neeson), who with charm, guts, and idealistic fervor leads the quarrel contrary to British rule in the adolescents and '20s. Dynamic and commanding first half gives way to more abstinent and unavoidable summarization, in which Collins is made to become an ambassador and compromiser, sowing the kernels of his own downfall. Neeson is phenomenal and works with a first-rate cast in this convincing, believable, and vicious period piece, beautifully filmed by Chris Menges. Cast includes Liam Neeson, Aidan Quinn, Julia Roberts, Stephen Rea, Alan Rickman, Ian Hart, Brendan Gleeson, and Charles Dance. (132 minutes, 1996) Across the Bridge: Scotland Yard is closing in on a German business man who is involved with some illegal deals. He goes on the run, and tries to enter the US by way of Mexico. To pull this off he tries to switch identities with another passenger on his way. Stars include Rod Steiger, David Knight, and Maria Landi. (1957 British-Drama) The Light That Failed: This is a fine cast of a Kipling melodrama of London actor Colman going blind, decided to finish photograph of Lupino, whose florid Cockney behavior robs film. Cast includes Ronald Colman, Walter Huston, Ida Lupino, Dudley Digges, Muriel Angelus, Fay Helm, and Francis McDonald. (97 minutes, 1939) The Pursuit Of Happiness: An absolutely incredible true story about Chris Gardener, a man struggling to make ends meet for his family. His wife leaves, and he is left out on the streets with his son, who is only five years old. With incredible courage and determination he gets an internship at a famous stock brokerage firm. He valiantly fights through all the difficulties, cares for his son, and hopes to land the job that can turn things around for him. A la Mode: Lighthearted French comedy of an adolescent orphan who gets to be apprentice to a tiny village's tailor, only to crack into the style planet of the '60s. If the remainder of the film were as clever as the clothes there may be more than suggested. Cast includes Remy Duchemin, Ken Higelin, Jean Yanne, Francois Hautesserre, and Florence Challenge. (82 minutes, 1994) Try a search phrase something like "Movie Share". A change in the phrase will sometimes get a better result.
